Restaurant in Rehoboth Hosts Tequila Dinner

Papa Grande will serve four courses including a rockfish ceviche and baked chorizo, each paired with tequila.

Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria in downtown Rehoboth Beach will hold a four-course dinner, paired with tequilas, on Dec. 4. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and dinner starts at 7 p.m. “Tequila dinners at our Papa Grande’s restaurant in Fenwick are always a big hit,” says Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, which owns and operates both of the Papa Grande’s restaurants, as well as six other restaurants from Lewes to Fenwick. “We’re positive that customers in Rehoboth will enjoy these dinners just as much. It’s their chance to taste some creative dishes full of Latin flavors and learn about exceptional tequilas. It’s also a good time to get together with friends during this holiday season.” Courses include smoked rockfish ceviche with tomatillo, Serrano peppers, radishes, cilantro, lime and chicharron (a popular dish in Spain and Latin American countries); baked chorizo and carnita masa cake with queso, baby kale, pickled red onion and lime; roasted chicken posole in a rich broth with crunchy garnishes and red chile; and chocolate tres leches cake. “One of the reasons we opened not one but two Papa Grande’s is to explore the great foods of Latin America, where chefs combine a lot of fresh ingredients to create a huge flavor profile,” said Doug Ruley, corporate chef of SoDel Concepts. “This dinner gives our chef, Ivan Ayala, a real opportunity to stretch and get innovative with the menu. Not only are we incorporating tequila into some of the dishes, but we’re also trying different tequilas on their own.” The price for the dinner is $40 per person. For reservations, call 212-2409.
