New Year, New Brews

Dogfish Head introduces its 2016 brewing lineup.

Delaware’s reigning champion of “off-centered” ales just released its 2016 brewing calendar, and it’s going to be a great year. The Dogfish Head team organized its release schedule into four categories: year-round, wood-aged, seasonal and occasional beers. Along with Dogfish’s classics like 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, Namaste and Indian Brown Ale, two additional wood-aged brews are still to come this winter.

Palo Santo Marron is a fan favorite that’s available from January to April. It’s held in one of the brewery’s famous Palo Santo tanks, which are made of wood from the Paraguayan forest. Palo Santo means “holy tree,” which is appropriate: With its notes of caramel and vanilla, this ale tastes like it came straight from heaven. Make sure to drink responsibly—with a 12 percent ABV, this brew is a strong one.

Dogfish Head is all over the U.S., but its roots are in Delaware. Get a free tour and beer sampling at its Milton brewery, or simply stop by the Rehoboth location to see what’s on tap. Check out the 2016 lineup at www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/thee-schedule.htm.
