No time to bake Christmas cookies? No worries. Hand over the reins to a local bakery so you can spend that extra time with your family and friends. Whether you need goodies for Christmas morning or the office potluck, these bakeries have you covered.

New Castle County

Half Baked Patisserie • 13 W. Main St., Middletown
Specialties: Their special holiday menu includes cupcakes, cake pops, biscotti, pies and more. Check out their assorted cheesecakes (plain, white chocolate peppermint, apple crumb and tiramisu) and pies (banana, coconut, mixed berry, pecan), and don’t miss their one-of-a-kind Cupcake Christmas Wreath.
When to order: Orders must be placed by Dec. 16 at 4 p.m.

Janssen’s Market • 3801 Kennett Pike, Greenville
Specialties: Check out their holiday menu for desserts that will satisfy any sweet tooth. The menu includes home-baked pies (Dutch apple, cherry, pecan and pumpkin), strawberry shortcake, cookies, cannoli, tarts (lemon pistachio, crème brûlée and pear) and breakfast pastries. Their sticky buns and holiday-themed sugar cookies are always a hit
When to order: All orders for Christmas Eve are accepted until Dec. 20.

The Market at Capers & Lemons • 301 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington
Specialties: This market is a one-stop shop for desserts and unique gifts. Their homemade cookies, chocolates and candies are perfect for entertaining during the holidays (and year-round). A bag of five cookies sells for $5.95. In the spirit of giving, all the proceeds from their seasonal Hot Chocolate cookie go directly to Kind to Kids, a nonprofit organization for foster children.
When to order: Cookies are sold daily in the Market. Call ahead if you need a large order.

Dolce Bakery • 36 N. Walnut St., Milford

Their holiday cookie tray features an assortment of gooey chocolate, classic chocolate chip and gingersnap cookies. Dessert trays come in a variety of sizes, serving between 15 and 45 people.
When to order: Orders for Christmas Eve are accepted until Dec. 19.

Sussex County

Little Brick Cakery • 106 Union St., Milton
Specialties: This custom cake shop will meet the needs of even the pickiest party planner. Some popular holiday treats are their gingerbread cakes and cupcakes, cheesecakes, Yule logs, assorted Christmas cookies, pies and custom cookies, including individually bagged Gingerbread Men.
When to order: The last day for holiday orders is Dec. 20.

Specialties: This bakery has all your sweet and savory needs. Their artisanal breads make a great addition to your holiday feast.
