Middletown Medium Talks About Seeing Spirits

Deanna Fitzpatrick is headlining a “spirit-gathering” event this Friday, March 23.

Deanna Fitzpatrick is an evidential medium from Middletown, who says she began seeing and hearing spirits in 2001 after visiting a hypnotherapist for weight-loss help.

Though the weight-loss treatment was unsuccessful, she says, Fitzpatrick began refining her ability to connect people to the spirits of their passed loved ones. In 2006, she left the banking industry to open her own professional practice.

Fitzpatrick will headline an event at the Milton Theatre on Friday, March 23, with two other mediums. Tickets are available for $30–$35 on the theatre’s website.

What do you say when people ask what you do for a living?

Initially I just say I’m self-employed. If they ask further, I will say that I’m a medium. The reactions are always varied.

What do you say to people who are skeptical about your ability to see spirits?

I wish that people who were skeptical would check it out. Give it a shot first before you make a choice or decision.

How do your public events operate?

Primarily I work with the audience and the spirits who wish to connect. I’ll start with a little about me, then the spirits will come in and give me information or evidence to confirm I’m with the right person, like their father’s name.

How do your larger gatherings differ from individual or small group sessions?

Large gatherings are kind of fun because there are a lot of spirits in the room. There can be as many as two to three spirits in the room per person.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I have two dogs and a grandpuppy that I like to hang out with. I also refinish furniture as a hobby, and I recently started making candles. I probably won’t make any money off of it, but I’ll just give them away as gifts.
