More than 1,500 people enjoyed the best food, shopping, cocktails and music that Delaware has to offer at the 26th annual Best of Delaware Party, held July 17, 2014. Aisles bursting with award-winning fare from nearly 100 of the area’s top restaurants, boutiques, salons and other businesses filled the Chase Center on the Riverfront. Guests danced the night away to award-winning party band, Jellyroll, and rubbed elbows with local celebs. We always look forward to partying with the best. Next year, we hope that includes you!
Jellyroll has kept the party going year after year with its infectious grooves. The 2014 event also featured stellar performances by Sean “Sinatra” Reilly, Dave Matthews, George Weldon Jazz and BlueBallRoom Dance Studio and Club.
From cupcakes to crab cakes and all sorts of swag in between, guests had their pick of endless tastes, samples and gifts from award-winning local businesses. Second helpings, of course, are always encouraged.
Delaware Today was honored to partner with two local charities this year. The 2014 beneficiaries included The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation and Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay.
The Best of Delaware Party would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors like Delaware State University, Horty & Horty, The News Journal and a variety of other local and statewide businesses.
There was no reason to leave empty-handed at this party! The silent auction was stocked with fabulous goods, services and other treasures. Proceeds went to support one of this year’s beneficiaries, and silent auction coordinator, Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay.
VIP & After Party
The party started early for a limited number of VIP guests who filled the Chase Center an hour early and it didn’t stop when the clock struck nine! Party sponsors, vendors and guests were invited to keep the night alive at Firestone with more food & drinks.
