It is hard to find a shoe store that I don’t like, but the new Ashley Austin Boutique in Kennett Square has taken my fetish to a new level. Ashley Palandrani has just unveiled her lifelong dream: her own luxury shoe and accessories boutique and it’s a doozy.
Ashley Austin is a little jewel of a shop that is nestled on State Street in Kennett Square next to the infamous Tallulah’s Table. Ashley may be the new kid on the block in Kennett Square, but she has certainly been around fashion in the Delaware Valley for many years.
Formerly a manager of the chic boutique Ellie, Ashley’s background is primarily with Anthropology as a buyer. So what does that mean? It means that she has impeccable taste. Not only is the boutique, with its funky shelving and dark wood floors, as welcoming as it is chic, but absolutely everything in the store is a must-have for the new season.
Each item is great quality, well researched and handpicked to be on top of the trends. This is one store where you can’t go wrong with anything!
Ashley Austin has a wide selection of flats, heels, boots, and pumps in tons of colors and fabrics, but the displays are so easy to see that you won’t feel overwhelmed with choices.
While I was there, I bought a fabulous pair of bronze and leopard pumps, and two pairs of booties. The booties, short boots with a comfy stacked heel, are in every fashion magazine, but were absolutely impossible to find anywhere else. After having looked for weeks, I jumped on them and bought two pairs!
I regret only buying three pairs of shoes (yes, only!), because every single item in the store is a home run. I guarantee that whatever you choose will get the Glam Girl Seal of Approval!
Ashley recently held a grand opening to a packed house of family, friends, and fashionistas. Dozens of people crowded into her adorable salon, grabbing all sorts of accessories, handbags, and shoes.
Ashley, resplendent in a hip black jumpsuit and sporting some eye-catching gold hoop earrings (available for purchase, of course) was the life of the opening party.
“It’s great to finally have my own store,” she said.
