Summer Make-up Tips

Today let’s talk make-up!

If you haven’t been yet, Houppette in Greenville is a beautiful, high-end specialty boutique that carries the most sought after lines in makeup, fragrance, skincare, and other unique accessories. Located in Powder Mill Square in Greenville, this store combines big city brands with an intimate setting, that makes you feel like you’re in your best friend’s gorgeous sitting room!

The name Houppette is the French word for powder puff, and just as adorable as the name are the owners, Cristi Miller and Donna Schneider. Together they have created a little gem of a store, to provide us with the brands such as Laura Mercier make-up, Darphin skin care, Creed Perfume, and lingerie by Cosebella. We recently caught up with the owners as they hosted a Laura Mercier make up event. As guests were treated to champagne and complimentary make up consultations, we got a few minutes to talk summer style with make-up artist Chris Park.

Chris, what are this summer’s newest looks?

This summer’s makeup style is all about the dramatic eye, and a subdued cheek and lip.

A neutral lip color is big. We fell in love with the Pink Champagne lip color with the Plum Berry lip liner.

Light foundation is key this summer we found the tinted moisturizer to give a sufficient coverage and a sheer glow.

Eyeliner is making a unique comeback this summer. Instead of a heavy line, use an eye pencil smudged with a coordinating eye shadow color. This will give your eye that desired smoky look.

One of the coolest products we tried was the Laura Mercier Perfecting Oil. When mixed with water it creates the ultimate facial cleaner/makeup remover.

Not only was our skin clean, but it really glowed!
