Well, the time has come. We are ready to show you the pinnacle of the last two years—the unveiling of the project to recommence construction.
Reconstruction commenced with the installation of new footers and foundation walls to accommodate the changes in the floor plans. First, forms for the new foundation walls were installed.
Once the forms were in place, concrete was pumped from the truck into the forms.
A remote control is used to control the boom to direct the flow of concrete into the form.
Concrete was also poured into the new crawl space floor, which was added as a result of the floor plan changes. Note the floor of the crawl space has the same pre-slab treatment of 10 mil poly, the seams of which were taped, and 2” of rigid foam insulation.
View looking from the existing basement into what will be the new crawl space.
At long last, the tarp was removed from the decking, and we were ready for the project to “go vertical.”
A typical day on the canal.
