Welcome to Home Skillet, where we pronounce “victory” thusly. Here’s our events for the week.
Here’s a look at the menu, with beer pairings:
1st Course: Apricot, roasted Merguez sausage, fava bean salad—paired with Prima Pils “German Pilsner”
2nd Course: Seared scallop, English pea mash, orange endive marmalade, ginger carrot foam, speck ham crisp—paired with Helios Ale “Saison Style”
3rd Course: Bar Board with charcuterie, pickles and roasted nuts—paired with brewer’s selection
4th Course: Pepper grit cake, burnt corn puree, fried green tomato, warm crawfish salad, crawfish essence—paired with Hop Wallop “Very Hoppy Ale”
5th Course: Veal breast, melted pearl onions, dumplings, royal trumpet mushrooms, bing cherries, veal glace—paired with Wild Devil “Belgian IPA”
6th Course: Chocolate Fourplay, a selection of four chocolate delectables—paired with Baltic Thunder “Baltic Porter”
The event gets underway at 7 p.m. at the Stone Balloon Winehouse in Newark, and reservations run $55 per person. Call 266-8111 for more.
Thursday, July 22: Of course, there really is only one party this week, and it’s the Best of Delaware Party Thursday night at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. And with it comes all the food, drinks, and legal gaming you could possibly hope for.
