Welcome to Home Skillet, where we will not drink any $%*&ing Merlot! Here’s what’s happening this week.
Tonight, Wednesday, May 20: Newark’s newest haven for oenophiles is unveiling the Newton Wine Dinner tonight, a scrumptious five-course service paired with offerings from the California-based winemakers. The menu looks rustic and hearty and includes things like local soft-shell crab, braised short rib and grilled rack of lamb. Bring your appetite. And a ride home. For a complete rundown of the event, click here.
To make your reservation, which costs $69 apiece, call 266-8111.
Friday, May 22: Veritas Wine & Spirits, the auspicious liquor store in the heart of blossoming Wilmington Riverfront, is holding a launch party for Yellow and Blue’s newest line of rosés.
Yellow and Blue is an environmentally conscious wine producer (yellow + blue = green. Get it?) that uses only certified organic grapes and fills its wine into funky, eco-friendly Tetra Paks (think wine in a milk carton instead of a bottle).
Yellow and Blue owner Matthew Cain will be onhand to pour a few glasses and field any questions.
Stop by Veritas (321 Justison St., Wilmington, 543-6071) beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.
That’s it for now, but much more to come in the upcoming weeks.
