1. Prepare for fall
Dogfish Head is bringing back Punkin Ale with a debut on Friday, Sept. 1 (11 a.m.–11 p.m. at the brewpub in Rehoboth; 11 a.m.–7 p.m. at the Milton brewery). There will also be pumpkin-themed food, merchandise, mugs and growlers.
2. Spend some time in paradise
Paradise Grill in Long Neck, situated on the water, has a full lineup of live entertainment in its tiki-style setting. Acts include The Girlfriends, Chrome Wheels, Mike Hines & the Look, Clifford Keith, Angela Natrin, Captain Mike, Garden State Radio, Love Seed Mama Jump Trio, Katelyn Christine, TG and Bre, Sam Grow and Bob Lougheed & the Memphis Mafia. 3. Capture the can
Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes will release Mootzy’s Treasure IPA and Jav-O-Lantern, a smoked-pumpkin/coffee ale. Jav-O-Lantern will be available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans, and will go on tap at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1. The keg tapping will be the sixth edition of Hammock’s Steal the Pint Night. A limited number of Jav-O-Lantern glasses will be available with the purchase of a pint. (Limited edition shirts will also be available in the retail shop.)
4. See The Fab Four at The Freeman Stage
There’s not much time left to enjoy everyone’s favorite outdoor entertainment venue, which on Friday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. will host The Fab Four, a Beatles tribute band. The singers make three costume changes to reflect the iconic music group’s evolution and the era that shaped it. Bring your own chair. Tickets are $25.
5. Rock with the Hubcaps
The Rehoboth Beach Bandstand’s concert series winds down this weekend, starting with The Fabulous Hubcaps at 8 p.m. The band plays music from the 1950s to the 1970s.
6. Have a “wine-derful” evening
Paul Cullen and a trio of musicians will perform jazz, rock and Mediterranean-influenced music at The Milton Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 8 p.m. Purchase a VIP ticket for wine and antipasti prior to the event. Tickets are $20–$35.
7. Hunt for treasure
The Fourth Annual Attic Treasures Sale is Saturday, Sept., 2, from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Sponsored by the Greater Lewes Community Village, the event will take place in The Brush Factory on Kings in Lewes, which is already a treasure trove featuring multiple vendors. Bonus: There’s no admission fee.
8. Belly up to brunch
Indulge in summer excess one last time before you start dieting to fit into your holiday finery. Bethany Blues in Lewes and Bethany regularly win awards from Delaware magazine readers. The former has a build-your-own bloody mary bar and an a la carte brunch; the latter has a buffet.
9. Sing with the King
The last performance in Bethany Beach’s concert series features Jesse Garron’s tribute to Elvis on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 8 p.m. at the bandstand.
10. Say farewell to summer
The 31st Annual Bethany Beach Jazz Funeral is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 4, at 5:30 p.m. The procession, complete with Dixieland jazz bands, begins at the north end of Bethany’s boardwalk. A silent auction to benefit Habitat for Humanity will be held at Bethany Blues from 3:15–4:45 p.m.
