These frigid winter temperatures may have us craving our flannel pajamas and heated blanket, but even those winter staples aren’t doing the trick. Sometimes, you just have to venture out and get something that will warm you to the core—like ramen.
Luckily, there is a spot at the Delaware beaches that will do just the trick—Miyagi Ramen Bar, located right off Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach.
The restaurant has been around for almost three years, and it serves some of the most mouthwatering and authentic ramen in the area. The noodles are made from scratch every day and are the perfect vehicle to sop up all of the tasty flavors in the bowl.
A heaping bowl of ramen starts at just $11 (vegan). There are seven other varieties, ranging from black garlic tonkotsu ramen to Thai green curry ramen. I ordered the shoyu ramen with chicken, a soy-based broth that is served with menma (seasoned bamboo shoots), kikurage (mushrooms), Naruto (fish cake), ajitama (seasoned egg), pickled ginger, sesame seeds and scallions.
Owner Jeong Hoon Kim has lived in Rehoboth for 13 years, and if you’re lucky, he may take a break from cooking and give you a sake lesson and tasting. Diners should also make note of the restaurant’s current Wednesday special, where mandoo, shio, shoyu, miso and vegan ramen are $10.
