While some maintain Scrooge status all season long, others get in the Christmas spirit as soon as Halloween is over. If you think the holidays can’t get here fast enough, then be sure to check out Winter WonderFEST, which opens this weekend at Hudson Fields on Saturday, Nov. 16 and runs through Tuesday, Dec. 31.
The event, which is produced by nonprofit organization Festival of Cheer, previously held its Christmas light display in Cape Henlopen State Park and its Christmas Village at the Cape May Lewes Ferry Terminal grounds. But this year’s Winter WonderFEST Field of Christmas Dreams—which include an ice rink, carnival rides and games—will all be held in one location.

Festivities kick off with a 5K run/walk on Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. and a one-mile fun run at 6 p.m. Racers receive a free hot chocolate, cookies and Bud Light for those over 21. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the race.
This year’s Christmas Village includes popular attractions like Schellville Christmas Lane, Santa’s Workshop and Midway Games, plus food trucks, craft-making, carnival rides and more. The annual Light Spectacular features over 100 light displays, and this year guests have the option of driving through in their own vehicle or taking a hayride.

Also new this year, guests have the option of buying a premium, pre-cut Christmas tree from Coastal Christmas Trees. A portion of every tree and wreath purchased goes toward Winter WonderFEST and its mission.
