Tech2Gether Wilmington will bring together innovators at the forefront of cutting-edge medical science, groundbreaking educational techniques and services, and the emerging innovation hub inside Wilmington for two days of talks, demonstrations and Q&A with industry leadrers, venture capitalists and Hoots & Hellmouth.

1313 Innovation will launch this two-day conference on Nov. 4-5, making it the first forum in the area to present and celebrate advancements in Medicine, Education, and Technology from the Wilmington area and beyond. Tuesday will focus on innovations in Medicine and Education in the Hercules Building in Wilmington, while Wednesday and will feature innovations in Technology at World Café Live at the Queen.

On the first day, leaders in medicine and education from the state will showcase advancements and innovations in their respective sectors, with sessions on Wilmington Robotic EXoskeleton (WREX), da Vinci Robotic Surgery at Nemours, and how Google Glass is leading to medical innovations that would be impossible without it.  At the same time, leaders in education will discuss innovative school models coming to Delaware and the impact of technology in the classroom.

The second day will feature tech innovations from throughout the region while highlighting the growing entrepreneurial community in Delaware.  Conversations will range from the role of venture capital to highlighting the work of makerspaces.  We are proud to host speakers such as Chris Wink of Technical.ly Delaware, Wayne Kimmel of SeventySix Capital, and Jeff Davison of Delaware’s Leading Edge Fund while also hosting panels focused on Start It Up Delaware and creative marketing.

Beyond presentations, the innovations in tech day will also feature an interactive demo pit hosted by Digital-Vikings and musical guests.  The demo pit will feature recent tech innovations such as 3D printing, Oculus RiftTM, and Google GlassTM.  Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the different products and learn about their place in our future.  Following demonstrations, Hoots & Hellmouth will cap the day with performances with special guests the Bailey Hounds.

Tech2gether was originally dreamed up by 1313 Innovation’s founder, Paul McConnell.  Paul’s vision is to host an event that is inclusive and celebratory of all things Wilmington.

“It’s a great place to live and work, but no one celebrates the wins Wilmington has produced over the years. We’re looking to change this by celebrating the city and its many innovations to be appreciated on an annual basis,” said Megan Anthony, 1313 Innovation Community Manager and Tech2gether organizer.

“Tech2gether Wilmington is about celebrating the strides that the innovators of Delaware have made and providing an arena for them to present their successes to the public in an edgy, rock ‘n’ roll type of way,” said Greg Shelton, Lead Tech2gether Organizer, Chief Marketing Viking of Digital-Vikings. “In the same note, innovators from surrounding cities will help present their achievements so we can learn by example. I believe Tech2gether Wilmington is going to help change the way the people of Delaware view innovation altogether.”

Tickets for Tech2gether are  available online at tech2gether.org and start at just $25.  Full access to the two-day conference is available for $55.  Sponsorship opportunities for the event are available.
