If you’re getting ready for holiday baking time, consider this: Rose Levy Beranbaum will visit Chef Anthony’s Italian Market in Chadds Ford on Dec. 13 to mingle and sign her newest book, “The Baking Bible.” The long-awaited and most comprehensive baking book from the best-selling cookbook author and “diva of desserts,” “The Baking Bible” is an essential addition to any home baker’s library, the magnum opus of Beranbaum’s illustrious baking career. With new recipes for the very best cakes, pies, tarts, cookies, candies, pastries, breads and more, this all-inclusive volume draws from Beranbaum’s passion and expertise in every category of baking. From everyday treats to elaborate confections seen in the fanciest bakeries, the book reveals the secrets to all. “Rose and I met a long time ago when I was an apprentice for Chef Fritz Blank who recently passed away,” says chef Anthony Stella. “At that time I was reading and baking from her book ‘The Cake Bible.’ It was funny because everyone who came to meet her that day had a new book for Rose to sign, but I brought my very used, torn and tattered book, which she just loved. We became friends from that point on and we still correspond regarding recipes.” Space is limited, so reserve soon. The cost to attend is $10, which will be donated to the Ministry of Caring to help feed the homeless. Call (610) 459-5900.
