16 Mile Brewing Company in Georgetown, known for its session ales and innovative infusions, will host its first tasting dinner at the brewery with SoDel Concepts, the James Beard Award-winning restaurant group, on Feb. 21. “We have been inviting local food trucks and their chefs to the brewery for a while now. SoDel’s Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen has been a mainstay, setting up shop at least one weekend a month,” says Sarah Dickinson, the media and events director at 16 Mile. Your menu for this historic occasion begins with a pickled deviled egg served with a fried oyster, scrapple chip and fennel frond; Killer Tiller backwoods-style chili with a Johnny cake; seared scallops with a purée of roasted root vegetables, bacon-and-beer-braised greens, and black currant gastrique; and other tantalizing creations. Your 16 Mile brews: Blues Golden Ale Infusion, Tiller Brown Ale, Amber Sun Ale Infusion and others. Claus Hagelman, sales and marketing director for 16 Mile, is the mastermind behind several of the infusions that complement Chef Ronnie Burkle’s menu. “Pairing with SoDel is an opportunity to showcase our abilities as a brewery to create infused beers that complement the chef’s food, and not just have a chef write a menu to complement our beer,” Hagelman says. Intrigued? The 16 Mile and SoDel Concepts beer dinner starts at 5:30pm. To make reservations email sarah@16milebrewery.com.
