Dover Days Festival Welcomes History, Heritage and Hops

Share

Get ye olde Colonial grog on during Dover Days this year when the Downtown Dover Partnership Merchants Committee will host History, Heritage & Hops on May 2, the first-ever brewfest at the 82-year-old festival. “We are so pleased to be partnering with the Merchants Committee this year,” says Cindy Small, executive director of Kent County Tourism, the producer of the Dover Days Festival. “We have wanted a great headliner event for Saturday evening for several years, and the brewfest should fill the void very nicely.”  The brewfest will run 3 p.m.-9 p.m. on Loockerman Street. To date, participating libations partners include Mispillion River Brewing, Third Wave Brewing, Fordham & Dominion Brewing, Dogfish Head Brewing, Yards Brewing, 16 Mile Brewing, Harvest Ridge Winery and Painted Stave Distilling. “The arts” will be a big part of the offering, with breweries, wineries and distilleries featuring handcrafted libations. In addition, several local bands will fill the air with sound. Bands will include Mike Hines and the Look, Trailer Park Casanovas, The Brothers Stonesifer and Rich Engle. Admission is free, and drink tickets will be $5 each.  A special VIP ticket will be available for sale closer to the event.  For more information, visit www.DoverDaysFestival.com.
