Feel Good Hard Iced Tea
Where to Find It
Crooked Hammock Brewery
316 Auto Park Drive, Middletown; 36707 Crooked Hammock Way, Lewes; 644-7837
With so many nonbeer beverages on the market, savvy craft brewers are diversifying. Case in point is Crooked Hammock Brewery’s new Feel Good Hard Iced Tea, now available in cans to go or at the bars in the Lewes and Middletown brewpubs.
Weighing in at 6% ABV, the hard tea is slightly stronger than the brewery’s hard seltzer, which is 5% ABV. Crooked Hammock starts with whole-leaf black and oolong teas and adds fruit for sweetness. Flavors include lemon and raspberry. (The hard seltzer comes in peach mango and lemon blueberry.)
Don’t be surprised when the newcomer takes off. Ready-to-drink hard tea is the top-selling segment in the U.S. flavored malt beverage category, outpacing hard ciders and lemonade, according to Stir magazine, which covers the coffee and tea industry.
Both the hard seltzer and tea complement Crooked Hammock’s backyard, beachy vibe.
