Calling all local homebrewers—you could brew a beer with Iron Hill Brewery and see it on tap. The Delaware-based brewery and restaurant’s “Brew With a Legend” contest invites homebrewers to submit their best recipes for consideration between Dec. 26-Jan. 8, 2020.
Five regions—Delaware, Greater Philadelphia, Central Pennsylvania, New Jersey and South Carolina—will accept entries and select a winning submission. Winners will be chosen by a panel of professional brewers and celebrated craft beer industry guest judges.
The final winners will join Mark Edelson, craft beer pioneer and Iron Hill co-founder, and one of Iron Hill’s head brewers to brew their recipes at Iron Hill for regular sale on its taps, according to the website. Preliminary judging will take place on Jan. 11, and final judging will be on Jan. 18.
Winners will also receive a sixtel of their beer and a $500 Iron Hill gift card. Plus, Iron Hill will donate $1 per pint of the selected beer to the charity of the winner’s choice, according to the website.
