Get ready for a weekend of food, fun and plenty of beer—Blue Earl Brewing Company‘s food truck competition is back for its third year, this time for two days. The event will be held on on Friday, Aug. 2 from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 3 from noon-8 p.m. outside of the brewery (rain or shine).
At least a dozen local food trucks will be competing to win the coveted Blue Earl People’s Choice Award. Each attendee will receive a ballot and vote for the food truck of their choice, and at the end of the day on Saturday, the votes will be tallied and the winner will be announced.
Additionally, a panel of food experts will judge signature dishes prepared by each food truck for a chance to win the 2019 Blue Earl Cup. Owner Ron Price will be a judge this year along with chef Ludovic from La Baguette in Dover and chef Ernesto from Trevi Ristorante in Smyrna.

The brewery started serving food about five months ago, and when Price is not busing brewing beer, he can be found in the kitchen. “My passion for cooking goes back to when I was 10 years old and I used to watch Julia Child on TV,” Price said.
Last year’s event drew in around two thousand people, and this year Price is expecting around five thousand attendees. Price said that he’s happy the event registers with so many people. “There is something about this event that really stirs people, he said. “It brings an urban feel to a rural environment.”
