Introducing the Booth House Tavern, Historic New Castle’s modern twist on the colonial-tavern where guests gather to eat, drink and be merry. Embracing New Castle’s historic town roots, Booth House Tavern has adopted one of the historic red-brick buildings, transforming it into a multi-faceted guest experience—including a tavern, café, and inn.

Explore the streets of Historic New Castle or Battery Park and complete your experience with us. The tavern setting blends tradition and history while inviting enjoyment and comfort.

Enjoy hand-crafted food, exceptional beers and cocktails, and top-notch service. Our chef is local to Delaware with a successful history with some of Delaware’s most popular eateries. The food is sourced locally, farm-to-table, and made fresh daily. Stop by the window of our hydroponic room where we grow our own micro-greens, tomatoes, herbs, edible flowers, and more for our daily specials and salads. The chef’s talents extend to baking, the perfect treat to end your meal.

Sample the micro-brewed goodness of HammerGod Brewing Company, the in-house brewing company made to reflect the regal tenacity of our small-but-mighty First State. Happy Hour is Tuesday to Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Locals and visitors are invited to enjoy and unwind from your day with $1 off drafts and house wine, plus $20 Bottles of Wine.

We’ve expanded to six dining rooms, each with its own individual personality. All feature artwork created by local artists, on consignment. First floor dining rooms are the Red Room, and New Castle Room. The second floor offers the stately Library Room, Van Dyke Room, Park View, and Municipal Room.

The outdoor patio is a blend of fire and water. Be seated at one of our wine barrel “fire tables” custom designed by a local artist, for a twist on the traditional fire-pit setting. Or be located by the relaxing rock fountain pool, for a cooling ambiance. The wrought iron archway that leads to the fountain space was designed specifically for the location by a well-known blacksmith from Delaware City.

You are invited to stay the night with us at the historic David Finney Inn, located on the third floor. Guests will enjoy the convenience and comfort of the inn with a private view of historic New Castle’s charm and history, right in the heart of downtown.

The DFI Café is our bright, art-inspired coffee shop featuring Little Goat Coffee, fresh pastries, and grab-and-go sandwiches. Whether a local or visitor, the café is the perfect location to start your day or stop by for a mid-afternoon refreshment. Relax in our cozy café lounge equipped with Wi-Fi, housing the only television onsite with the exception of the rooms at the David Finney Inn.
