It’s time for early spring produce from Bright Spot Farms. That means kale, spinach, collards, chard, beet greens and more are coming to you—or somewhere close—very soon. In season, Bright Spot trucks fresh produce to various locations in Wilmington each day of the week—and sometimes several spots a day. The effort by West End Neighborhood House started about five years ago to give former foster youth job training by growing and selling their own produce on a half-acre farmette on the campus of Delaware Psychiatric Center. Look for Bright Spot at places like Wilmington Senior Center, Fraim Center, Claymore Senior Center, Hercules Plaza and various farmers markets. Keep an eye on the schedule at brightspotfarms.org.
