Cavanaugh’s Restaurant in downtown Wilmington is celebrating its 30th anniversary milestone with a new look and a special dining offer.
One of Market Street’s oldest operating eateries, the fast casual restaurant has been serving lunch goers sandwiches, salads and burgers since the late 1980s. Now in its 30th year of business, Cavanaugh’s continues to be a stop for fast service, efficient menu items and delicious lunches, according to a news release.
To mark three decades of business, Cavanaugh’s underwent a major renovation process to restore this historic building to its former glory with the help of Downtown Visions’ Main Street Wilmington Program and Facade Improvement Program, according to a news release. Through these programs, Downtown Visions staff oversee each individual exterior improvement project from beginning to end as well as provide grants on a matching basis up to $25,000 per façade improvement.
With Comenity Bank and Bank of America, Downtown Visions awarded Cavanaugh’s grant funds for the restoration of the building facades that face Market and Shipley Streets, installation of exterior signage, and multiple interior renovations, according to a news release. Since 2010 over 72 businesses have benefited from Downtown Visions’ Main Street Wilmington Program, including Bardea Food & Drink, Stitch House Brewery, Residence Inn and Eat Clean.
Cavanaugh’s is also celebrating with a special anniversary dining deal. Get $3 off lunch items (any sandwich, salad or entree per person) during the month of October.
