Celebrate All Things Apple and Scrapple

The annual Bridgeville Apple Scrapple Festival is back in town.

Get out your Delaware pride. It’s almost time for the annual Bridgeville Apple Scrapple Festival. The one-of-a-kind event that celebrates all things apple and scrapple will be held Oct. 9 and 10 this year.

It started in 1992 to promote the towns and agribusiness in western Sussex County and has continued to grow each year.

You’ll find all manner of food, from scrapple sandwiches, crab cakes, barbecue, an “all you can eat” breakfast and more. One of the most popular dishes is apple dumplings with ice cream.

But eating is just part of the fun. You have to check out events like the Ladies Skillet Toss—the pans are tossed, not the women—the Scrapple Chunkin’ Contest and Kids Apple Toss.

There’s also a car show, a crafts fair, a health and safety exhibit, entertainment and more. For more info, visit www.applescrapple.com.
