Whiskey lovers and day drinkers, this event is for you. On Saturday, May 20, Liquid Alchemy Beverages is celebrating National Whiskey Day with whiskey barrel-aged mead from noon–9 p.m. The whiskey barrels are from Smyrna distillery Painted Stave, which are blended with Sweet Nothing mead.
Samples will be available for $2–$3; glasses will be $7-$8 each. With less than four barrels of rye whiskey on hand, owner Jeffrey Cheskin says Liquid Alchemy will be serving cocktails until they run out.
Even if you’re not a whiskey drinker, the concoctions are surprisingly drinkable. One whiskey-mead mixture includes a meld of citrus fruits, while another has strawberries and blueberries soaking. And be sure to visit Troops Barbecue & Catering Food Truck out back for a bite.
