If you don’t have plans for Friday night, then you do now: get tickets for Chowdown For Charity, a tasty fundraiser held at Maple Dale Country Club in Dover. Sip beer and wine while local chefs prepare a gourmet signature dish for you to sample and vote for your favorite, selecting the “2019 Chowdown for Charity Chefs Champion.”
Local vendors include: Chaiyo Sushi & Thai, The Greene Turtle, Po’ Boys Creole Restaurant, Lefty’s Alley & Eats, Wild Quail Golf and Country Club, easySpeak Spirits, Mispillion River Brewing, Hammerheads in Dewey Beach, Brick Works Brewing and Eats, La Hacienda, Roma Italian Restaurant and Sul Tempo Cocktail Lounge, Meding’s Seafood and The House of Coffi.

Money raised at the event is put back into local community organizations focused on addiction and family services. Previous grants have gone to Children & Families First, SummerCollab, Jewish Family Services, Compassionate Hearts, FORGE Youth and Family Academy and many more.
The event is hosted by The Next Generation Southern Delaware, which is a giving circle of the Delaware Community Foundation. It is a philanthropic organization that was created and is directed by young professionals living and working in Sussex and Kent Counties.
Tickets are $55 per person and $45 for a designated driver ticket. They can be purchased here.
