Metro Diner recently made its debut as one of Newark’s few diner options. Located in the Omega Shopping Center, the 3,450-square-foot restaurant has comfort food galore—from fried chicken and waffles to Charleston-style shrimp and grits. It’s known for large portions that rarely exceed $15.
The Davoli family opened the first Metro Diner in 1992 in Jacksonville, Fla. The chain is currently the United States’ fastest-growing dining concept, boasting more than 30 restaurants nationwide.
Before its official opening in Newark, Metro Diner held a benefit for Exceptional Care for Children and raised $3,652.
