DART’s “Stuff The Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive Begins Nov. 9

The goal of the event is to collect 20 tons of non- perishable food for Delawareans in need of food assistance.

It’s that time of year again: DART is kicking off its annual “Stuff The Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The 23rd annual event will run throughout the state of Delaware, beginning on Nov. 9 and ending on Nov. 14, according to a news release. The goal is to collect 20 tons of non- perishable food for Delawareans in need of food assistance with the public’s help.

“Stuff The Bus” will be collecting food at seven sites throughout the state. The site locations, collection dates, and times are:

Monday, Nov. 9: Safeway, 19283 Coastal Highway in Rehoboth from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 10: Walmart, 939 N. DuPont Blvd. in Milford from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Safeway, 190 John Hunn Brown Road, (Corner of South Bay Road at South Little Creek Road) in Dover from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 11: ShopRite of First State Plaza, 1600 W. Newport Pike in Stanton from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 12: Rodney Square (Market Street side) in Wilmington from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 13: ShopRite of Brandywine Commons, 1300 Rocky Run Parkway in Wilmington, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 14: ShopRite of Four Seasons, 700 Plaza Drive in Newark from 9 a.m to 4 p.m.

Donations can be made directly to the Food Bank of Delaware if patrons are unable to visit any of the “Stuff The Bus” collection sites. For more information on donating food, contact the Food Bank at 292-1305, or visit FBD.org.
