Delaware may be small, but our beer scene is mighty.
Local breweries will celebrate the state’s beer culture during the 2020 Delaware Beer Drinker’s Choice Awards at Crooked Hammock Brewery. Every craft beer concept in the state will be represented at the event, happening on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the brewery’s Lewes location.
“The Delaware Beer Drinker’s Choice Awards highlight the amazing array of quality beers available from brewers around the state,” says Liz Keller, Delaware Tourism director. Mispillion River Brewing took home the honors of “Best Beer” at last year’s event.
Attendees and brewers alike are encouraged embrace their unique characteristics with humorous costumes. This year, attendees will also have the chance to be awarded for dressing up with a gift basket featuring prizes from participating breweries.
“We created this event to celebrate the kick-ass Delaware beer scene, and build camaraderie and a little bit of fun competition between all of the Delaware breweries,” says Crooked Hammock Brewery owner, Rich Garrahan. “My favorite part of the event is the costume competition and the videos the breweries produce to promote the event. It keeps the competition and the whole energy of the day light-hearted,” adds Garrahan.
This year’s award categories include Fan Favorite Beer, Best Facial Hair, Best Brewery Costume and Best Drinker’s Costume. Visit Crooked Hammock Brewery’s website to browse the full list of confirmed participating breweries.
Tickets are $39 online and a designated driver ticket is $10.
