It started with a grilled cheese contest. It continues in Year Two with a mac-and-cheese competition, too. Which is why we love Cheesetoberfest—possibly the best food event ever, definitely the cheesiest. It goes down at the visionary Fordham & Dominion Brewery in Dover Oct. 4, when chefs from 20 Delaware, Maryland Virginia, and Philadelphia restaurants throw down their best. The beer will flow. The oompah band will blow. You will sample grilled cheeses in categories such as HandKrafted Goodness (“white bread, butter and either American or Cheddar cheese. Just like Mom used to make”), We Will Roquefort You (any bread and any cheese with nothing else) and others. Need we say that we applaud the addition of macaroni and cheese categories, from any variation of Kraft mac-and-cheese to traditional mac-and-cheese to a Mac Le’More of any pasta, any cheese-based sauce and any additional ingredient?
