New at Winterthur: outdoor beer gardens on Fridays. From 4 p.m. till 9 p.m. on the visitor center patio, enjoy local brews, food and live entertainment, all inspired by the museum’s exhibition “A Colorful Folk: Pennsylvania Germans & the Art of Everyday Life.”
A 12-ounce beer is $6 (bottles of Yards Love Stout and Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA or draughts of Twin Lake Winterthur Wheat, Twin Lakes Route 52 Pilsner and Crispin Blackberry Pear Cider.
Homemade food includes Bavarian pretzels, bratwurst sandwiches, German potato salad, strudel and more. The beer gardens are open to all, no tickets or rezzies necessary. They happen May 29, June 19, June 26, July 17, July, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21. For more, tap www.winterthur.org.
