Through March 4, celebrate the most award-winning beer from Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, its Russian Imperial Stout. Each of Iron Hill’s locations, including Wilmington and Newark, will prepare and serve a hearty menu of steaks in honor of the nine-time medal winner. “Since earning that first gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2003, Russian Imperial Stout has become one of our flagship beers, and we’re proud to celebrate it,” says owner Mark Edelson, director of brewing operations. “As the winter wears on, the only way to get through is with full-flavored meals and full-bodied beers, and this special meal suits the end of the cold weather perfectly.” Created by Bob Barrar, head brewer at Iron Hill Media, Russian Imperial Stout is a full-bodied brew that starts with a complex, malt-y sweet and high-roasted character that is balanced by citrus-y American hops. Since 2003, it has won a slew of awards at the GABF and the World Beer Cup, including several gold medals. The celebratory menu, including will include dishes such as pan-roasted filet mignon wrapped in bacon served with caramelized shallots, garlic roasted fingerling potatoes and porcini mushroom sauce; char-grilled rib eyes with glazed haricots vets, cheesy smashed potatoes, crispy onion rings and chimichurri sauce; char-grilled Porterhouses with stuffed mushrooms, sautéed asparagus, wedge fries and shallot-herb butter; steak au poivre and much more. If you have the jones, Iron Hill is the place and this is the time. Make your plans now. ironhillbrewery.com
