Get Comfortable at Crooked Hammock Brewery

Sip crafts bears and munch on some BBQ at Lewes’ latest dining addition.

Crooked Hammock Brewery and Backyard BBQ in Lewes is now open. The brewpub is owned by La Vida Hospitality Group, which also runs Nage. Like the name suggests, there really are hammocks in the restaurant’s backyard along with a sleek indoor dining room.

Owner Rich Garrahan explains that it’s “a unique place, where all of us can celebrate our time at the beach. To grab a homemade bite. To sip a craft beer that’s made right here. … Crooked Hammock is a place where we all can hop into our very own hammock.”

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, starting at 11 a.m. Brews include the Shoobie, a blond ale; Backyard Brown, a brown ale, and the inaugural ale, The Wilbur, a Belgian tripel.

The menu has offerings like a pulled pork sandwich, grilled salmon on a cedar plank, deviled eggs with bacon and cheese, and a vegetarian MOO (mushroom, oat and onion) burger. (A recipe for the burger is included in our fall 302Health magazine.)  For more information, visit www.crookedhammock.com.
