Grey Fox Grille & Public House quietly opened its doors last week to the public. The refurbished restaurant, in the space formerly occupied by W.T. Smithers, is offering selections from its lunch and pub menu and special offerings from the dinner menu, prepared by head chef Gilberto Santana. Look for sandwiches like The Hamlet with grilled ham, bacon and provolone cheese on Texas toast; stuffed burgers with fillings like mushrooms and blue cheese; and desserts like deep-fried Oreos.
The rebuilt bar offers 16 craft brews on tap, beer by the bottle plus specialty cocktails and wine. The restaurant—owned by Diana Welch, her son Ryan Weber (they also run Golden Fleece Tavern) with longtime friends Carolyn and James “JD” Davidson—will have an official grand opening on Nov. 2. It will offer a full menu then. For more info, visit www.greyfoxgrille.com.
