Harvest Ridge Winery recently opened a tasting room in Pennsylvania—but before its expansion, the winery already spanned the border of two states: Delaware and Maryland. That Marydel property is located on the historic Mason-Dixon Line, where one of the original markers—number 47—still exists. (Hence the prominent number 47 on the winery’s labels.)
The winery announced plans at the end of last summer for the new tasting room in Toughkenamon, Pa. (in between West Grove and Kennett Square). After months of construction, the grand-opening celebration was held on Saturday, May 5, with a ribbon cutting and live music.
Founders Chuck and Chris Nunan live in New Garden Township, Pa., so expanding the winery into the state was a natural progression, explains sales manager Kristi May Wyatt.

The new facility offers Rebel Seed Cider on tap, which Harvest Ridge also produces, plus a full selection of wines.
Harvest Ridge is also bringing its wine club to Pennsylvania. “It’s free to join, and you get specials in the tasting room—including $1 glasses of wine every day during your birthday month—10 percent off full-case purchases, and discounted club packs that include three bottles every three months,” Wyatt says.
