Here Are the 15 Restaurants Competing in This Year’s Delaware Burger Battle

A new victor will be crowned on Aug. 24 in Wilmington’s Rockford Park.

Come hungry, the Delaware Burger Battle is set to be a filling one. Going into its eighth year, the burger battle is set for Saturday, Aug. 24 from noon-3:30 p.m. The event will be in a new location this year, Rockford Tower at Rockford Park, located at 2000 Lookout Drive in Wilmington.

What can I expect at the event?

The burger battle first began in 2012 and has seen plenty of success when it comes to competition and charity.

Ticket holders are able to sample burgers from each booth of various participating restaurants, and attendees get to have a hand in naming the best burger in the state. Tickets also include alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, according to the website.

Guests get three votes, which can be given to one restaurant or split between multiple vendors, according to the website. At the end, votes will be tallied up to determine the People’s Choice Winner. The judges panel will choose the Critic’s Choice Winner and the Best Alternative Burger.

The burger battle will be held rain or shine, and is open to all ages. But, please leave pets at home, according to the website. There will be free parking nearby, including handicapped parking.

How much are tickets and who do the proceeds benefit?

Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite, and pricing ranges from child’s ticket at $12, teen or designated driver ticket at $32 and general admission at $50. Please note tickets could be higher at the gate, according to the Facebook event page. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Delaware and Delaware Prostate, according to the website.
