Honeygrow—known for its custom stir-frys and salads—opened its first restaurant in the state last week in the Market
Square Shopping Center on U.S. 202, next to Trader Joe’s. Like honeygrow’s four other locations, the new store does not have a freezer since its items are sold fresh.
The menu relies on locally grown products, homemade sauces and zero additives, and offers a vegan, gluten-free smoothie. The pretty interior features commissioned photography by Delaware resident Carlos Alejandro, reclaimed wood stool tops by Fab Dubrunfaut and custom-made tables by Philadelphia Woodcraft. Later this fall, honeygrow, a Philadelphia startup, will open a Newark store in the heart of the University of Delaware campus at 58 E. Main St.
