At $2,000, truffles are the kinds of things that are usually shaved into a special dish quite parsimoniously (not that a little doesn’t go a long, long way), which is why Let There Be Truffles is such a treat. The three-day affair features truffles, truffles, truffles with Susan Alexander of Black Diamond French Truffle Orchards and the chefs of Bluecoast Seafood Kitchen in Bethany April 21, Lupo Italian Kitchen in Rehoboth April 22 and Fish On Seafood Grill in Lewes April 23 at their restaurants. You’ll have some great conversations about one of the world’s most coveted foods and enjoy an amazing variety of dishes and wine, all to benefit Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth. Cockle-truffle chowder, plums with truffle honey, truffle-stuffed guinea hen, lobster dumplings with truffle cream—we could go on and on. Suffice it to say, these will be unique dinners and—at $75 a ticket—a bargain and a half. The menu changes with the location, so call for more. Bluecoast, 537-0100; Lupo, 226-2240; Fish On, 645-9790.
