The Pennsylvania-based fast-casual restaurant is expected to open its first Delaware location this fall, and will offer customizable burgers, salads and more.

A Pennslyvania burger spot is joining the myriad of options on Newark’s Main Street this fall.

M2O Burgers and Salads is expected to open at 42 E. Main St. in mid-September. The restaurant will bring its customizable menu of made-to-order burgers, salads and smoothies. Plus, plenty of side dishes, milkshakes and more.

“You come in and build [your meal],” says Pep Osmanollaj.

The local restaurant chain is owned and operated by brothers Jim, Leo and Pep Osmanollaj. The eatery currently operates in Philadelphia and Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. The trio decided to expand into Delaware when they saw Newark’s college vibe. After a year and a half of looking, they settled on the previous location of Central Perk Coffee & Deli.

Leo says the building’s renovations involved entirely gutting the previous look and renovating it to match M2O’s needs. The space is open with light wood paneling, a modern counter for ordering and seating spaces with different vibes for individual diners, families, and students who are looking for a study space.

On the walls, the brothers depicted the city and townscapes of their other locations and their home country of Kosovo to show their journey in business.

M2O’s menu is all about offering patrons a customizable experience. It consists of a variety of burgers and salads that can be made to your preferences. The brothers like to offer customers what they really want to eat.

Pep says the restaurant focuses on high-quality ingredients, including Certified Angus Beef for their burgers.

They’ll also be serving breakfast options at this location, a plus for the college student who’s been pulling an all-nighter.

Since the pandemic, they’ve begun offering family meals where customers can order multiple burgers and fries in one go. And while dining restrictions have slightly changed how the restaurant is designed and operates, the three brothers are ready to bring M2O to Delaware and become a part of the Newark community.

“You kind of expect a challenge,” says Jim.
