Are we jumping the gun? Hardly. The MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival is the epicurean event of the year, so as soon as we learned the date, we had to spill. May 13-17 chefs and winemakers from around the world will visit Wilmington to collaborate on 35 brunches, lunches, tastings and dinners. You can meet the vintners, brewers, distillers, chefs and other experts while enjoying some of the best food and drink you’ll ever taste. Over the past two years, the festival has engaged 126 chefs and 28 winemakers from six continents, has issued 6,500 tickets, and has sold out 46 events while drawing attendees from more than 15 countries. In 2014, festival events took place in 14 cities and towns in Delaware (and a couple in Pennsylvania). Organizers hope to reach more places this year. The 2015 events will be announced as they are confirmed, but for now, save the date, and keep your eye on www.mawff.org.
