On Saturday, July 23, head to downtown Newark for the 13th annual Newark Food & Brew Fest, a unique take on a beer festival. This event takes place within Newark restaurants, allowing patrons to sample the featured brews and tasty dishes.
Beer tastings and food specials begin at 2 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. The first 2,000 guests will receive a Food & Brew Fest commemorative 5-ounce tasting mug.
Each restaurant is preparing its own menu to pair with its featured beers. The Deer Park Tavern will be serving pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw, mild Italian sausage sandwiches and pork, broccoli rabe and provolone sandwiches with five varieties from Victory Brewing Company. Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen will be serving Buffalo chicken egg rolls, tuna ceviche nachos, Reuben sliders and bacon and cheese popcorns with beer from Allagash and Tröegs.
