Get Ready to Dine Deliciously During Newark Restaurant Week

Enjoy discounted three-course dinners and takeout specials from select Newark restaurants during the week of January 21-27.

Put down the grocery meal planning and support Delaware restaurants this month.

Hosted by The Newark Partnership, Newark Restaurant Week will run from Jan. 21-27. Diners can enjoy discounted three-course meals along with other takeout specials at select eateries. Restaurants in Newark that are participating include Home Grown Café, Caffé Gelato, The Blue Crab Grill, Klondike Kate’s Restaurant & Saloon, Skipjack, Stone Balloon, The Greene Turtle, Deer Park Tavern, Santa Fe Mexican Grill, Taverna and Iron Hill Brewery.

The three-course dinners are priced at $30 and will be available nightly from 5-10 p.m.

The restaurant week series will return next month, running Feb. 18-24. Keep an eye out closer to the second week for new specials.

The Blue Crab Seafood Restaurant & Grill

Choose from a variety of seafood and American fare menu items at this eatery. Items include deep-fried oysters, buttermilk brined chicken breast and chocolate peanut butter layer cake with Chocolate Thunder ice cream.

Caffé Gelato

 This Italian American eatery is offering a myriad of options for restaurant week. Those who choose to dine-in can enjoy menu items like pan-seared, center-cut filet mignon and pan-roasted salmon or chicken. Those who want to enjoy dinner at home can order the takeout home meals, which include two servings for $25 or four servings for $39.

Deer Park Tavern

This tavern’s restaurant week menu is available for dine-in or takeout. Enjoy bourbon grilled salmon or jambalaya for your main course and apple pie ala mode or ice cream cookie sandwich for dessert. Plus, there are a variety of appetizers to select from.

The Greene Turtle

This Maryland-based franchise is participating in restaurant week by offering some of its family friendly and pub-inspired dishes. Menu items include Cajun chicken or shrimp pasta, Southwest steak bowl and the Famous Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich. For dessert, try the funnel cake fries or brownie sundae.

Home Grown Café

At Home Grown, patrons have a wide variety of options for their three-course dinner. Plus, the restaurant is accommodating to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diners. Menu items include local cheddar cheese and duck sausage board, winter risotto and vegan carrot cake.

Iron Hill Brewery

This Delaware-based brewpub chain is getting involved with restaurant week through a set menu of soup, salad, a salmon entrée and chocolate banana bread pudding for dessert.

Klondike Kate’s Restaurant & Saloon

At this downtown Newark restaurant, enjoy beer cheese soup with crostini as your appetizer and decadent cheesecake as dessert. For the main course, diners have the option of Guinness beef stew or cauliflower penne pasta fra diavolo. Both main courses are served with garlic bread on the side.

Santa Fe Mexican Grill

This eatery’s menu consists of Mexican classics, allowing diners to choose an appetizer, main course and dessert. Menu items include gorditas al pastor, mole coloradito short rib enchiladas and tres leches cake.
