Husband-and-wife team Albert Sierra and Keila Montalvo opened Petite Sweets, a shop specializing in beautifully decorated, flavorful cake pops, in Milford last December.
The colorful store serves golfball-sized confections on a stick in flavors such as red velvet, coconut, and cookies-and-cream. The miniature treats cost $2 for one, $5 for three and $15 for a box of 10, with other prices available. The shop also offers various beverages, including coffee and flavored milk.
In less than a year, the couple has expanded and opened a satellite location in downtown Dover. “We wanted a place with lots of foot traffic,” says Sierra. “We want to gain brand awareness.”
The menu at the Dover shop will be exactly the same as the one in Milford, but the pops will continue to be produced in Milford. Sierra says the pops have been a big hit for occasions such as birthday parties and charities.
The couple will host the grand opening at the new Dover location (111 W. Loockerman St.) on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10:30 a.m–4 p.m. All customers will enjoy 50 percent off their cake pop purchases. Be sure to sample the seasonal flavors out now, apple pie and pumpkin spice.
