The fast casual dining options are expanding in Newark. Poke Hibachi, an offshoot of Poke Bros, is opening on Thursday, Nov. 21. The restaurant will offer poke bowls, hibachi platters and rice or noodle bowls. Located at 2713 Pulaski Highway in Newark, the restaurant hopes to please both family and college community crowds.

Poke Bros currently operates five restaurants in Delaware. The brand is national and after seeing success in Delaware and beyond, the company created an offshoot, said Braden McGlone, marketing manager.

“It’s a branch of that brand,” he said.

Already knowing poke, they decided to add more Asian-inspired dishes to the Poke Hibachi menu. Customers can order from six different poke bowl options ranging from salmon to tuna to chicken.

There’s also rice and noodle bowls where customers can choose their base and protein in addition to mixed vegetables. There’s also a variety of hibachi plates, appetizers, sides and desserts.

“It’s a little bit of everything,” McGlone said.

McGlone said the goal was to be close to the University of Delaware’s campus, but the restaurant is also aiming to please its other target market of families. He said the restaurant’s fast casual atmosphere and high quality products gives people the opportunity to get lunch or dinner fast and not regret their choices.
