Warm up on a chilly fall evening during the Scotch-Pairing Dinner hosted by Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware on Wednesday, Oct. 5. The evening is hosted by Russ Kempton, international spirits expert and the owner/founder of Grapes & Grains. Here’s a glance at the menu:
- Arrival: Whisky-anCnoc 12-year
- First course: Mini jumbo lump crab cakes, paired with Old Pulteney 12-year
- Second course: Harvest salad with roasted butternut squash, quinoa, pears, brandied Craisins, almonds and a honey-balsamic dressing, paired with Cardhu 12-year
- Third course: Grilled beef tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto topped with a shallot and oyster-mushroom demi-glace, paired with Dalmore 15-year
- Dessert: Rustic apple tart served with toffee and caramel UDairy Creamery ice cream, paired with Glenmorangie 18-year
Price per person: $89 plus 20 percent gratuity. Special hotel guestroom rate for dinner guests: $99 plus tax. Advanced reservations for both dinner and room are required.
