As spring and summer roll around, farmers’ markets will be opening their doors throughout the state. Sure, eating vegetables isn’t always fun—but buying them can be when it’s a beautiful day out.
Below are some of the state’s prime options for fresh fruit- and vegetable-shopping.
Dawn’s Country Market (Milton)
Open now from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. After Memorial Day, it will stay open until 8 p.m.
Georgetown Farmers’ Market (Georgetown)
Open now on Wednesdays from 3–6 p.m.
Glasgow Park Farmers’ Market (Glasgow)
Beginning May 6, the market will be open on Fridays from 3–7 p.m.
Co-Op Farmers’ Market (Newark)
Opening May 1; daily hours will be 9:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Rockwood Park Farmers’ Market (Wilmington)
Beginning Thursday, May 5, the market will be open from 3–7 p.m.
Carousel Park Farmers’ Market (Wilmington)
This market will open on May 6 and operate on Fridays from 2–7 p.m.
Cool Spring Park Farmers’ Market (Wilmington)
Starting Thursday, June 16, this market will be open from 4–8 p.m.
Route 9 Farmers’ Market (New Castle)
After May 6, this market in the parking lot of the Bowlerama will be open on Wednesdays from 3–7 p.m.
Southbridge Youth Garden Farm Stand (Wilmington)
This market is only open on the last Friday of every month, from 3–7 p.m. in June–August and from 4–5 p.m. in September and October. (Dates are June 24, July 29, August 26, Sept. 30 and Oct. 28.)
Wilmington Farmers’ Market (Wilmington)
Starting May 4, Wilmington Farmers’ Market will be open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Open now; daily hours are 9 a.m.–6 p.m. The orchards are closed on Sundays.
Booth’s Corner Farmers’ Market (Garnet Valley, Pa.)
Hours are Fridays from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
