Best bistro, servers, desserts, lunch spot, and restaurant makeover are just a few titles won by Corner Bistro in a long list that speaks to the quality and popularity of this French-inspired North Wilmington eatery. Yet the slew of titles hasn’t stopped the folks who work there from striving for the best. Manager Kate Tyrawski says that they are all just as dedicated to producing one happy customer after another. “It’s great to get a chance to talk to customers one-on-one about what we do,” she says. “We’ve made lots of friends and connections through Best of Delaware.” Tyrawski adds that they also appreciate the opportunity to “meet, mingle with and congratulate” other local businesses who have shared in the Best of Delaware glory.
Just last year, Corner Bistro won its ninth title in the last seven years for best desserts and attended the Best of Delaware Party to celebrate. The bistro brought along one of its most successful sweet dishes to feed to the masses—the Budino. “It’s a vanilla custard parfait with chocolate cookie crumbles, caramel and espresso sea salt,” says Tyrawski. She says at past parties, the bistro has also provided guests with delectable eats like pork belly BLTs and bruschetta duos. What’s her favorite thing about the party? “The people! We always have such a great time talking to everyone from all over the state—guests and vendors alike—about food and everything we do,” Tyrawski says. She recommends going for the great music and giveaways as well. “Go. It’s always so much fun. You’ll absolutely have a great time.”
There is a little over a month left until our July issue reveals the latest group of winners. For tickets to the party on July 30 and more information about the Best of Delaware, visit www.bestofde.com.
