Until now, if you had one too many Unchained Reactions or Golden Hopsmelts, your only sobering option was to grab a bite at whatever food truck was parked out front of Wilmington Brew Works. But now, the massive 11,000-square-foot building in North Wilmington has a neighbor: La Pizzeria Metro, the same owners of Café Riviera in the Concord Mall.

The restaurant opened late last month and is serving up all the mouthwatering Italian classics, plus a few extras. There are over a dozen specialty pizzas, plus your basic cheese, marinara, white or Margherita (which come in your choice of a 12-inch round or 12-inch square).
Before you do anything, get an order of the cast iron chicken wings, which are served in a piping hot in a small-scale skillet surrounded by caramelized onions. The wings are tender, meaty and extremely juicy; you will want to order another batch but try and save room for some pizza.

Another great surprise is the beer list. There are over 10 beers on tap (many of them local) plus an extensive bottled beer list. Wine and spirits are also available.
