It’s hard to believe that Painted Stave Distilling in Smyrna will be celebrating its third anniversary this Saturday, Nov. 12. Join the distillery’s anniversary bash and the release of its first two-year-aged straight bourbon whiskey.
The Diamond State Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distilled from a mash of 65 percent corn, 26 percent rye and 9 percent malted barley, and has been aged for two years in 30-gallon oak barrels. Tasters will note flavors of vanilla, toffee, oak, cinnamon and nutmeg. The whiskey will be released at noon.
There will also be a silent auction. Bidding (in person and online) will close at 9 p.m. All auction proceeds will go to the Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation. For more information, visit www.paintedstave.com.
