Carol Arnott Robbins

Robbins usually enjoys her favorite dishes and wines in the comfort of her own home, but when she does dine out, she has her favorites. “Domaine Hudson in Wilmington comes to mind immediately for upscale dining, but I enjoy Home Grown Café in Newark, which is much more casual,” she says. Besides great food, Robbins also considers service. “The best server in town is Marvin at Harry’s Seafood, who recognizes previous patrons with delight.”
 


Paul Cullen 
Personal chef and musician 

If Cullen had to pick one must-try restaurant in Sussex County, it would be the Back Porch Café in Rehoboth Beach. “Forty-one years of farm to table–before it was trendy,” he says. Cullen runs his own walking food tours of Lewes and Rehoboth, so he definitely has favorites. He recommends Lupo Italian Kitchen for northern Italian cuisine and Henlopen City Oyster House for “lobster rolls and Bloody Marys to die for.” Rehoboth has many hidden gems, such as Zoggs, that Cullen believes make it a great place to dine.
 


Janet Forrest
Co-owner, Drunk’n Baker, Smyrna

Though Forrest is kept busy with her own business, she still finds the time to eat at a handful of restaurants in Kent County. Her favorite is the Odd Fellows Café in Smyrna. “Chef Willie is great. He does a Cajun pasta dish that is really delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad thing there,” she says. From seafood to Italian, Forrest loves Kent County’s central location for its diversity of dining options.
